Terms of use

Last updated August 6, 2026. These terms cover what you may do with the recorder chart site and what we promise — and don't promise — about it.

Using the charts

The charts, PDFs and diagrams are free to use for personal and classroom purposes. Teachers may print them and photocopy them for their students. You may link to any page on this site.

What you may not do

You may not resell the charts or PDFs, and you may not republish the site's diagrams as your own. The fingering information itself is standard public musical knowledge and is not something we claim to own — but the particular charts and drawings here are ours.

No warranty

The charts are an educational reference. The fingerings on the soprano and tenor pages were checked note-by-note against the American Recorder Society's published chart and the Yamaha Musical Instrument Guide in August 2026; the alto and bass pages transpose those patterns a fifth lower. Fingerings are still provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, and may contain errors. They are not a substitute for the printed charts of the American Recorder Society or other publishers, nor for the judgement of a music teacher. In no event shall the maintainers be liable for any loss arising from the use of these charts.
